Outcomes
Finding the right outcomes
When students start at our school, they have an initial baseline assessment to help us better understand their needs and establish a curriculum ‘starting point’.
We use BKSB (Basic Key Skills Building) for English and maths, as well as reading, writing and comprehension assessments.
We also do psychometric assessments to gather additional information about a student’s social, emotional and mental health, development and processing and emotional regulation starting points.
All this builds a picture of our students so that we can bridge any gaps in their learning while developing them into strong, resilient, and proactive adults.
Once we know their attainment level, we can recommend the right curriculum, whether that be working towards Entry Level, Functional Skills, or GCSE qualifications.
They can also study ASDAN (Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network) qualifications or AQA (Assessment and Qualification Alliance) Unit Awards.
